Mandoline.
Makes slicing vegetables etc. so much easier. Daikon slices, uniformly so thin that one can (nearly) ready a newspaper through them, until now a nearly unattainable goal.
Today we got a mandoline – at half price.
Yeah!

Meet Sofie
6 feet tall, weighing in at approx. 140 pounds and cute as a (rather largish) button: Sofie, the baby giraffe at the Los Angeles Zoo.
Born on April 22, 2013, Sofie has only been on exhibit for a couple of weeks; and yes, even at 6 feet she is quite tiny, compared to her parents. But she’ll get there!
